A serious and passionate educator, Robb has been a lifelong student of the drumset, having taken private lessons from age 6 he has had the opportunity to study with some of Canada's finest teachers including, Mark Rogers, Kevin Dempsy, Roger Flock, Rick Gratton and Vito Reza. Robb specializes in the "Patterns Series" by Gary Chaffee, using sticking patterns, linear phrases, odd note groupings and polyrhythms in an effortless and musical manner.
A decorated drumset master educator, he has been featured on Drumeo.com, 180drums.com, loscabosdrumsticks.com and with Canadian Musician magazine. Robb proudly endorses and is a clinician for Mapex Drums, Dream Cymbals and Los Cabos Drumsticks.
Clinic Breakdown: In this masterclass creative uses for simple 3 note stickings and linear patterns are explored creating time feels, fills and solo ideas.
Topics are broken down to absolute basics for the beginner student and are built upon for the intermediate/advanced player to include superimposing 3 note groupings over other rates; creating polyrhythmic time feels and fills as well as metric modulation ideas.
