CanadianDrumGear.com is proud to have some new snares in stock from Dunnett Classic Drums (Ron Dunnett) and The Geo H Way Drum Company (George Way). From time to time you will here us say that we would like to be a "unique" company and have products that are unique, we feel that Ronn Dunnett fits this adage perfectly.
Being a drummer, unsatisfied with the products that were available at the time he began to take existing products that were available and began modifying the shells, hardware, bearing edges and anything else that would manipulate the sound and tone of the drum. As a result, in 1994 Dunnett developed several prototypes based on these unconventional concepts which later led to him developing titanium and stainless steel drums. It was clear that there was a demand for more as these products would end up in very capable drummers, studio engineers and producers.
In 2007 Dunnett aquired trademarks for the George Way brand continuing the tradition of quality drums. Another unique individual who strived for innovation. Way was a legendary figure in the drum industry who started his first company in the early twentieth century called Advance. Pearl drum coverings and self aligning lug inserts were a couple of innovations that he was involved in before moving on to Slingerland and then Leedy and Ludwig. Shortly after that in the mid 50's he started his own venture creating George Way Drums. In his passing in 1969 there was an opportunity for one to carry on his traditions which would be later realized by Ronn Dunnett in 2007.
