Product Description
TAMA S.L.P. Dynamic Bronze Snare is quite unlike any of its Sound Lab siblings?and unlike most other Bronze snares as well. With a 1.2mm hairline Bronze shell and die-cast hoops, the S.L.P. Dynamic Bronze snare drum speaks with a sharp, clear attack and a rich tone to follow. This is an unusually aggressive and powerful instrument ? two qualities that aren’t usually associated with Bronze snare drums. You’ll still find plenty of Bronze’s traditionally warm, dark character, but the addition of die-cast hoops help turn this drum into an entirely different animal. It can go from a whisper to a scream at the drop of a stick and back again with no problem. It’s that rare blend of characteristics that inspired TAMA to put “dynamic” right in the name.

Hoshino Gakki began manufacturing drums in 1965 under the name “Star Drums”. Hoshino, the family name of the founder, translates to “star field,” thus the selection of the “Star Drums” brand name. The drums were manufactured at Hoshino’s subsidiary, Tama Seisakusho, which had opened in 1962 to manufacture Ibanez guitars and amplifiers. While the production of guitars and amps was moved out of the factory by 1966, the production of drums there continued to grow. The two higher lines of drum models, Imperial Star and Royal Star, were introduced to the American market and were successful lower-cost drums competing against more expensive American-made drums offered by Rogers, Ludwig, and Slingerland at the time.
